The first JSAI International Symposia on AI (JSAI-isAI) will take place in Tokyo on November 19 (thu) and 20 (fri), 2009. JSAI-isAI is an event that hosts several international workshops at the same location. This is in succession to the international workshops co-located with JSAI annual conferences since 2001. The JSAI-isAI 2009 committee has selected the following three outstanding workshops. For those who are interested in participating and attending one of those workshops, please visit the web page of each workshop and contact the organizer(s). We are looking forward to meeting you all at JSAI-isAI 2009.

News:

  • JSAI-isAI hosts an informal reception at 16:30-17:00 on 11/19(thu) at the workshop site.
  • Springer formally approved JSAI-isAI09 post-proceeding by LNCS. Selected papers and invited papers will be included in the proceedings.
  • Onsite registration is available!!
  • Workshops:

    Satllite Event

Note that this workshop is hosted by JSAI-isAI, but takes place as a separate event.

    Workshop 01:
Logic and Engineering of Natural Language Semantics 6 (LENLS 6)

LENLS is an annual international workshop focusing on formal semantics and pragmatics. This year we especially welcome submissions related to the interplay between logic, philosophy of language, and formal semantics and pragmatics.

Abstract submissions due: August 15, 2009

Notification of acceptance: September 15, 2009

Camera ready due: October 15, 2009

    Workshop Chair:Daisuke Bekki (Ochanomizu University)

    Workshop 02:
Third International Workshop on Juris-informatics (JURISIN 2009)

Juris-informatics is a new research area which studies legal issues from the perspective of informatics. The purpose of this workshop is to discuss both the fundamental and practical issues for juris-informatics among people from the various backgrounds such as law, social science, information and intelligent technology, logic and philosophy, including the conventional "AI and law" area.

    Submissions due: September 14, 2009

Notification of acceptance: October 5, 2009

Camera ready due: October 12, 2009

Workshop Chair:Seiichiro Sakurai, Meiji Gakuin University

    Workshop 03:
Third International Workshop on Knowledge Collaboration in Software Development (KCSD 2009)

The immense knowledge required for the creation of complex software systems is widely distributed among many stakeholders, and the success of software development hinges on how the stakeholders are able to share and combine their knowledge through cooperation, collaboration and co-construction. The goal of the workshop is to bring researchers and practitioners together to discuss theoretical, social, technological and practical issues of understanding and supporting knowledge collaboration during software construction process.

    Submissions due: September 18, 2009

Notification of acceptance: October 12, 2009

Camera ready due: October 30, 2009

    Satellite Event 01:
Sixth Workshop on Learning with Logics and Logics for Learning (LLLL2009)

Logic is one of the mathematical methods of representing data as well as rules in Machine Learning and Knowledge Discovery. Recently some methods are developed based on algebraic concepts, e.g. closed sets, for the aim. In the converse, Machine Learning procedures are found to provide procedural semantics to algebraic, and logical inference. The aim of LLLL is to bring together researchers who are interested in both of the areas of machine learning and computational logic, and to have intensive discussions on various relations between the two with making their interchange more active.
